The red metal sarcophagus landed with a gentle thud, and the men in crimson retreated, free to roam the area at their leisure. Cogs along the coffin twisted left and right, gears whirring in tandem as the structure slowly unlocked. What lay inside, a robotic body, pale and unmoving—began to stir. Shallow whispers echoed through its frame as Higgs's Ka flooded into every artificial nerve, every synthetic crevice.

He opened his eyes. A breath, reflexive, unnecessary—filled the chest, and with it came awareness.

He stayed still at first. There is no need to breathe, not anymore, not in this form. It was a strange phenomenon, like losing all one's taste buds—able to chew, to swallow, to go through the motions, but forever robbed of flavor. Feelings were much the same. At first, nothing. Then, slowly, like medicine dripping into an IV, sensation began to creep in from the land beyond.

He was Higgs, but not Peter. Peter, but not Higgs. Amelie. Higgs without Amelie. Peter without Amelie. Without anyone.

He was nothing. He wasn't worth a breath to anyone. He was Higgs. He was particles. He permeated all existence. Amelie. Puppet. Always a puppet. Peter was a puppet. Poor thing. Poor fool.

The mantra repeated over and over, even after he left the sarcophagus and staggered into the open, newborn-like, relearning his limbs. The wind tugged at his hair. He inhaled and felt something primal course through him. He could tolerate the numbness, even the dull hum of his artificial muscles, but losing his sense of smell? No. He would not endure that kind of tragedy. He refused.

And as if the gods obliged, a sharp copper scent kissed his senses. Blood. Crisp. Warm. Intoxicating. Like the sensual sway of a woman's hips. He followed.

The scent led him to a beaten red guitar, its back stained with dried blood. The previous owner—half-submerged in mud, body riddled with stab wounds—barely earned a glance. MULES, no doubt. Higgs stepped over the corpse, unbothered, lifting the guitar like it was meant to be his baby all along.

As he walked, Higgs began to strum. His fingers moved stiffly at first, the black tar threading through their synthetic musculature. He hummed under his breath, letting his hips sway. It had been ages—ages—since he had touched music or even sung. That part of him, of Peter, was long dead and starved—long before Amelie came into the picture, but this body, this separation from his Ha, it made everything feel too real, so real it almost hurt. He wanted to kill it over and over again just to feel the burn of resurrection.

"I've got...no strings," he croaked, his jaw locking on the words. Inch by inch, strum by strum, his mouth began to operate with him. "To hold me down...to make me fret, or make me frown..."

He winced as he missed a chord, then grinned wide, corrected it, and launched into a chaotic riff. His hands flew, body pulsing in rhythm, the electric tones from the frets riddling the air with his presence.

God damn, he was good. He'd missed this so damn much. Even if the closest thing to missing was grief, Higgs played through it—played until the sorrow began to dance.

Eventually, he wandered away from the warehouse, still playing, still humming, until a lone porter passed him on the road—a young woman with a large cargo pack and curious eyes. She slowed her pace as he approached, cautious but not alarmed.

He looked like any eccentric out there—strange, yes, but not hostile. He was just a guy with a guitar and a pep in his step, just a dude vibing, trying to make the most out of an apocalyptic hellscape. Even though he looked weird, to put it mildly, she found herself admiring how he seemed to have no care about how others perceived him; a trait she wished to embody one day, perhaps.

She gave a tentative and playful smile, raising an eyebrow. "Where are you going?"

Higgs stopped mid-stride and turned. That grin—the one that bloomed slowly, mischievously—froze the blood in her veins. Something in her gut churned the moment he began to chuckle.

"Wherever the music takes me, little lady," he drawled.

He strummed the guitar hard. A chaotic twang reverberated throughout her body, and for a split second, the porter could see something bubble behind his eyes—something old and godless.

He tipped his head and winked.

"God damn…it hurts so good to be back."

A while ago Jared Leto posted some photos about how he's getting ready for the next Tron film. I only found out about this because I follow the #tron tag, and at random it served up someone reposting these pictures and being genuinely happy and excited about it. It was kind of eye-opening to me, since most, probably all, Tron fans I'm following or have seen are fairly negative when it comes to Mr. Morbin' Time. It was sort of mindblowing to realize that yes, there are in fact people out there, fans of the Tron franchise, who are actually excited about Leto being in the next film. I don't know how many they are, but they do exist. It probably shouldn't be that surprising, since despite everything, the dude is a famous (or infamous) Hollywood star.

I can't put into words exactly why, but this realization did feel like it was healthy in some way. Stepping out of my comfort zone, out of the "echo chamber", knowing that there are people out there who share some of my interests, but who I fundamentally disagree with about other things. There's a lot of discussions about how fandoms should avoid gatekeeping, and I would probably never tell someone "you like Jared Leto? Then you're not a True Tron Fan."

Madame Web looks around happy at the team assembling before her.

“Uhh… someone’s missing” Eddie said. All the spider people and fellow Sony characters looked around.

Peter B Parker spoke up, “ yeah where is Morbius?”

All eyes landed on Spideypool, who could only look around nervously.

“Spideypool,” Julia asked, “where’s Morbius?”

Spideypool immediately flashed back to five minutes before. He was the only one sent to retrieve the living vampire.

Didn’t take him long to find said vampire.

Morbius jumped behind him and just said, “hi”

Spideypool screamed, “ahh!!! Jared Leto!!” And then immediately stabbed Morbius through the heart with a wooden stake

Back in the Web HQ, Spideypool quickly covered for himself. “Umm…he said no”

Oh don't worry, the first fandom i was ever in was for a different rock band, 30 Seconds to Mars. The main ship was between the lead singer and the drummer. They were brothers. They were the bands only real core members and thus the Letocest ship was born. The brothers were Jared and Shannon Leto.

And fun fact now Jared in real life is seemingly trying to be a cult leader, but also Mick Jagger.

Mod isn’t running a cult. She’s running a gossip blog. If someone calling your PR queen “Annacunt” has you crying into your delulu diary, I suggest logging off, hydrating, and maybe scheduling that long-overdue reality check.
